New opponent for Gilbert Melendez revealed (viewed 85 times)

Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez (13-1) is now slated to defend his title against Gabe Lemley (11-6) on the March 29th EliteXC/Strikeforce co-promoted event, according to MMA Junkie.

It had been previously reported that Chute Boxe jiu-jitsu coach Cristiano Marcello had been selected to face Melendez but Strikeforce Vice President Mike Afromowitz informed the site on Monday that the fight was never made official.
