A light heavyweight bout pitting Luis Cane against Jason Lambert has been scheduled for UFC 85 on June 7 in London, according to a report by Sherdog.com.
Cane, 7-1, made his Octagon debut at UFC 79 on Dec. 29 in Las Vegas. He suffered the first loss of his career when he was disqualified against James Irvin due to an illegal kick.
Lambert last competed at UFC 81 in January, where suffered a knockout loss to Wilson Gouveia in a fight he had been dominating for much of the night until Gouveia caught him.

Report: Chonan vs. Carneiro at UFC 85

A welterweight contest between PRIDE veteran Ryo Chonan and American Top Team product Roan Carneiro has been signed for UFC 85 on June 7 in London, reports Sherdog.com.
Chonan and Carneiro have fought one time previously. The two met in during a 2005 encounter in the Japanese-based MMA promotion DEEP. Chonan scored a third round TKO (due to a cut) over Carneiro in a middleweight encounter.

Shogun out of fight vs. Liddell at UFC 85 due to injury

A much-anticipated light heavyweight showdown between Chuck Liddell and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua to take place at UFC 85 on June 7 in London is no longer scheduled to take place, according to Thomas Gerbasi of UFC.com.
Rua was forced to pull out of the fight after re-injuring his surgically repaired knee. The injury has been officially diagnosed as a ruptured ACL in his left knee and will require a second surgical procedure.
It was not reported as to when Rua aggravated the injury. However, Rua's name was not mentioned as Liddell's opponent when UFC 85 was promoted this Saturday 's pay-per-view broadcast of UFC 82 from Columbus.
It's been a rocky start to Rua's career, once of the most promising fighters in the sport under the age of 27. Following the UFC's acquisition of PRIDE, Rua made his UFC debut on at UFC 76 in September and lost to underdog Forrest Griffin. Months later it was learned that Rua required surgery on his injured knee and would be sidelined in order to recover.
Liddell will remain on the card against an unnamed opponent. According to the report, a replacement opponent for Liddell is expected to be named shortly. Liddell is attempted to return to the promotion's light heavyweight title picture after losing the belt last June to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and then losing in his comeback fight to Keith Jardine this past September. He rebounded this past December at UFC 79 when he recorded a unanimous decision victory over Wanderlei Silva.
It will be interesting to see who the UFC signs to face Liddell, as all of the current top light heavyweights in the UFC such as Jackson, Griffin, Jardine, Silva, Tito Ortiz, Lyoto Machida, and Rashad Evans are already committed to high-profile matches scheduled to take place on upcoming cards.

The matchup between these two has been rumored for several weeks. The UFC has yet to make an official announcement.
Both Silva and Evans last fought on the UFC 78 card that took place this past November in Newark.
Evans, 11-0-1, won a split decision over Michael Bisping in a fight that was panned by many critics. The fight prior to Bisping, Evans went to a draw with Tito Ortiz at UFC 73 in July.
