A heavyweight bout featuring UFC newcomers Cain Velasquez and Brad Morris has been signed for the undercard of UFC 83 in Montreal on April 19, reports Thomas Gerbasi of UFC.com.
Velasquez is considered one of the top heavyweight prospects in all of MMA. He trains out of the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, Calif. and is a former NCAA amateur wrestling champion.
Morris, 10-2, is a native of Australia who currently resides in Sydney. The 29-year old competitor is known for his ground and pound ability as well as his unorthodox striking style.

UFC middleweight Patrick Cote is no longer expected to compete at UFC 83 on April 19 in Montreal, according to The Fight Network. Cote had been talked about for a possible fight against Alan Belcher but the bout apparently was never signed and won't be following a recent injury sustained by Cote.
The Fight Network is also reporting that Belcher is still expected to fight at UFC 83 and is now likely to face Canadian fighter Jason "Dooms" Day. Day has never fought in the UFC before but made headlines following a controversial split decision victory over David Loiseau during a Hardcore Championship Fighting card on February 1.
Day's possible fight vs. Belcher is reportedly a part of a multi-fight contract with the UFC.

According to International MMA website GroundandPound.de, the UFC has signed British heavyweight Neil Wain.
Wain, undefeated with a 4-0 record, could make his debut at UFC 83 on March 8 in Manchester, England.
His signing comes on the heels of other reported International signings such as Frenchman Samy Schiavo and Croation Goran Reljic.
