Exclusive: Jon Murphy and Shane... (viewed 450 times)

EliteXC announced during Friday's ShoXC telecast that its next ShoXC will be held on Friday, March 21, in California.

ProElite.com (SamCaplan.ProElite.com) has learned that one of the feature matches will be a showdown between heavyweight prospects Jon Murphy and Shane DelRosario

EliteXC has yet to formally announce the bout.

Murphy, 4-2, last competed in August in Jackson, Mississippi, winning his ShoXC debut against Dave Huckaba, knocking him out at 0:19 of round 2. This will mark his first fight since undergoing arthrosopic shoulder surgery in December. Murphy resumed training in early January.

A former member of the University of Syracuse football team, Murphy holds career victories over Carlos Cline and former UFC heavyweight Sherman Pendergarst.

Training out of the Anthracite Combat Club in Minersville, PA, Murphy began his career with an undefeated 3-0 record. He suffered his first career loss against Houston Alexander at Extreme Challenge 76 last March, less than a week after recording a first round knockout over Pendergarst at Extreme Challenge 75.

DelRosario, a Muay Thai fighter, has made a strong transition to MMA, holding an undefeated record after his first three fights.

A member of Team Oyama, DelRosario made his ShoXC debut in a non-televised match last October. He submitted Amedeo Viola with an armbar at 2:27 of round 1.
