Gina Carano added to EliteXC's next show... (viewed 1,012 times)

EliteXC officially announced on Friday morning a story that we had reported on earlier; that their next event is slated for Saturday, February 16 at the BankUnited Center on the campus of the University of Miami.

In addition to confirming a reported main event between Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and Tank Abbott, EliteXC announced the addition of female fighter Gina Carano to the card.

Carano last fought on Sept. 15 in Honolulu, Hawaii, recording a first-round submission over Tonya Evinger.

Carano's opponent for Feb. 16 has not been announced.

In addition to Carano and Slice vs. Abbott, Kyle Noke will fight Scott Smith in a middleweight matchup with James "Colossus" Thompson and Antonio Silva scheduled for action in separate bouts.

ProElite.com (SamCaplan.ProElite.com) has also learned that Mike Aina is injured and has been forced off EliteXC's next ShoXC event on Jan. 25 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ.

Aina had been slated to fight Paul Daley during the show's main event. EliteXC is currently in the process of securing a new headliner to face Daley.
